I didn't think of flipping it because I know what it looked like at the time, but yes it does look good left to right. |

I agree with Jose that the sky remains a bit bright. I tried cropping down to the top window pane line and then you'd have to do the border again. I'm not sure I like such wide borders for digi images as they show up so bright when projected. It might be fine with a print against a black mount. I do like being able to see the view through the window, but maybe darken it a little and lighten the dark areas of the chair -use shadow/highlight to bring out detail? This would fit well into a talk about Bannock. |

I think it's super. I like the mono more than the colour because to my British eyes, the latter looks much too oversaturated! We don't get brilliant colours like this in our climate so it always looks false to us. The conversion to mono is good. You used perspective changes to straighten it but I think the archway could do with a bit more. The right hand side is still at an angle to the frame. The palm tree which leans inwards also suggests that the left side could be straightened a bit. I accept it may be a leaning tree but viewers assume trees grow vertically! This shot is definitely worth spending a bit more time on because the overall effect is so good. |

I think it's a great PJ image and wonderful detail from a phone. I still have an old Nokia phone which wouldn't produce this quality. I would crop the bright poster from the right side because it points out of the picture and darken the white woolly hat in the foreground. The woman with the serious face contrasts well with the happy face to the left side. It works just as well in colour. Super! |

I'm sorry, but I hate this effect! I've done it before on birds of prey and I think the effect needs to be toned down quite a lot so the feathers still look as if they are feathers. For me at the moment, the bird looks as if he has been sprayed with dirt! You seem to have a white halo around the breast area. I wonder why you needed to alter it so much when it looks to be a super bird portrait. We don't have these so much in GB as such close up images are frowned on as they don't show habitat. However, I've had similar portraits accepted in the USA, so despite many being entered, if you have a good one, they can still be successful. This one is a bit close to the left hand edge of the frame -is there any more room there? |

it's interesting that you say this is an area of archaeological remains and I wonder whether the men revered this area because of its odd natural formations which must have seemed created by supernatural means to them. i don't think you have made the pillars stand out enough, so although they are interesting geologically, I think that they need more emphasis photographically. The detail is there in the rocks but the contrast between rock and sky is lacking. Could you either make the pillars more dominant or the sky more contrasty? I've just read Wes' comment and he seems to be saying much the same as me. |

It is very similar to Mt St Michel, but I don't know which came first. It's a lot cheaper to get to ours than to go to France! Yes, i agree there is still lots of noise in the sky. Ant ideas on how to reduce it? I tried Nik Define twice and also gaussian blur but it's still grainy. Please help me Carol -you usually know what to do. |
