Thank you Tom. Yes, the Z9 is a superb piece of equipment. I call it my "beast". Heavy but sturdy and very versatile. Built for wildlife and BIF. |

Hello Gaetan, an unusual image in the perspective that you have shown. I was wondering if there was an interesting element on the left of the image that could have been included? The direction of movement of the white boat and the vehicle on the bridge is on the left and which would have led to the element. But we cannot control it all. Whilst the water adds to the image it is much bigger than the bridges and takes up disproportionate space in the image and does not align with your title. |

Wow, this is a like a dream come true. My father worked in the railways for 30 years in India and so I grew up with trains. Sigh, not the good looking or pretty ones like in your image Butch...dirty goods trains and slightly better passenger trains. And guess what most people miss in these images...?? the white smoke and steam. In India you never get white smoke, just dirty black. So it was such a delight to see this image. The perfectly placed locomotive, the coloured compartments, the driver and the "fireman"(he shovels coal in the boiler), the guard in uniform and even the narrow gauge tracks. If this was not enough and I was to get greedy, I would have like to photograph it with a wider track curve to get more compartments and the curve in with some sky....bliss...!!! Very well done Butch. |

Hey Judith, this is challenging. Was there anyway you could have gone lower and a bit more to the left? Since your intention was to capture the action, going on the left and lower would have helped you capture the people waiting on the left and getting the action in the water. The clouds add limited value to a PJ kind of theme. So I probably would have shot this in landscape to add more of the water near the pier, some boats/vessels on the right and the row of people on the left acting as leading lines leading to the distant coast in the background. But hey that is why photography is an art...!!! Differing view points on the same image. |

A pleasant image Barbara. A few things which have already been pointed out, some of which I concur with. Removal of the twig from behind the sparrows head helps focus on the bird without any distraction. I like the diagonal placement of the bird in the frame. I like what Butch has done to darken the bird in good contrast with the background. The subject is sharp and I can see the hint of a catch light in the birds eyes. Just for my knowledge did you use Adjust Lighting in Topaz AI? From my experience it tends to over brighten images and it must be adjusted to look natural. You could do well in Nature genre in salons even though it is a portrait of a subject. |

Hey Rich, I like the way the statue has been framed between the trees with the vibrant sky as background. I am in two minds as regards the headstone. If it was an image for which I did not have any information it could be a distraction, but knowing it is a cemetery it certainly adds to the ambience. Agree with Butch on the modifications especially the lightening of the black in the trees. A bit more light on the statue will emphasise its central position. Thank you. |

Hi Tom, lovely image to soothe tired eyes..!!! Agree with some of the suggestions made by Judith, Barbara and Rich. Even though the image is from a zoo, perhaps you can remove the two wires in front of the platform as they do not add much to the ambience and the light behind the wooden platform. Thank you. |

Thank you Judith. Had limited choice. We were on a bridge and the bird on a river bed at a bit of a distance. Plus sky was overcast with very diffused light so had no option but to increase the ISO and the high shutter speed was required as the subject was constantly moving. Both helped me as after I took this image, it took off and I could also get it flying which would not have been possible at slow shutter speeds. Thank you for your feedback. |
