Thank you Judith. I can understand the sharp edges but not sure of what you mean when you say "total freezing"? You mean there should have been some blur? The reason I ask is that I used a 1.4 Teleconverter with my 180-600 lens and the camera was handheld and was wondering whether the high ISO and resultant high shutter speed may have impacted the image? I will review the raw file again and see if the edges are equally sharp and look "artificial"..!!! Yes, some texture in the bird would have been nice but given the low light very early in the morning may be the reason. I will see if I can play around with the settings in PS to bring out more detail. Thank you. |

Thank you Judith. I try and do the least amount of processing especially in nature images. But what you have done has definitely improved the image. Can you also please comment on the main image? Would like to get your thoughts on that one as well. Thank you. |

Very nice image Paul. Is the light on the plant natural? It gives a nice glow to the plant. I was wondering if the saturation on the pod and pot could have been increased a wee bit to add colour and even warmth to contrast the cool light on the plant. But that is me, I just like warm contrasting colours in images. Is it just me or there is a bit of horizontal tilt in the image? Enjoyed the image very much. |

Very nice Gaetan. Paul and Judith have nicely summed up what I had to say. In the edited image of Judith, I would further remove the bottom right part of the banana leaf to give an uninterrupted view of the brown flowing water. I miss the Indian monsoons...your image took me back to India. |

Hi Tom, I am a complete novice at this. Only when I read the comments from Paul and Judith did I realise how much I need to learn. The image is nice and warm and homely and everything when times were simpler. The only thing that caught my eye was the postcard closes to the camera which appears to be a bit too bright. Other than that love the image, but Tom I have to study this genre a bit and am unable to contribute much. Please excuse me. |

I remembered W H Davies's " What is this life, if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare" when I saw your image. I am glad you found that time. Nature is never boring and the smallest creatures bring us joy(I do lots of macro so know that...!!!). Love the reflections in the image and the fact that you went low and captured them whilst they enjoyed their bath...!! Such snap shots are always welcome. |
