Hi Gaetan. Well spotted and a good composition. Given the lack of much colour (except a bit of blue in the sky and some green in the foreground, would a mono image have done more justice, specially the tree which would have become almost a silhouette and the nice white contrast of the condensation trails in the sky? Your thoughts? |

Lovely composition Judith. Contrast in colours is great and I love the lines.. Can you please let me know so that I learn why such a slow shutter speed? Was this hand held or on a tripod? The reason I ask is that the left flower and stem are not as sharp as the one on the right? And what metering did you use in your settings? Please share some more details so that I can learn. Thank you. |

Very unusual image Paul. I like your composition hinting to some kind of mystery. Perhaps a bit of increase in exposure would lighten the image and some increase contrast and shadows may have brought out the blacks. A bit of white, black and grey would completely lift the image to another level. I will try and see what I can do. Do not have access to PS now. |

So much beauty. I had forgotten how beautiful Yosemite is. I like the starburst from the top of the tree and the play of light in the foreground. Not sure why the mountain peak is not sharp? Appears there was some fog or mist? A bit of saturation would have may be brought out the colours a bit more? A very pleasant image overall. |

Rich, it is a very striking structure. But I believe there is not much going on in terms of colour and perhaps a monochrome image with some increased contrast would do more justice to the edifice? A focal subject towards the far end would also make it more interesting. If you retain in colour I would reduce some of the harsh white light which may bring out more colour from the floor and parts of the wall and ceiling? They do not build them anymore like this do they? Lovely structure. |

I like the natural and human elements that you have included in your image. The light coming in from the top of the image nicely highlights the beginning of the cascading fall. I quite like the sky as it takes a very small portion of the image whilst adding completeness and brightness to the image. I am not sure why you took multiple images and then converted to HDR? I have never tried it and would like to understand how an HDR image would appear any different to a normal image? Thank you Tom. |
