At least in the software that I use ( Affinity Photo ) tone mapping is normally used to bring an HDR image's tonal range back to SDR for display on a wider range of monitors. It allows the user to compress the ranges of tones and the amount of local contrast. There are are adjustments for saturation, vibrance, and others that can be used to shift the colors. I don't use it for everything and then I tend to use it sparingly. Your image just seemed to have that early 20th century industrial feel that (for me anyway) lend itself to the harder and grainier feel that you can get from a tone mapped image . |

interesting soft dreamy feel to the photo. I don't think I have ever seen this plant before, beautiful flower and it looks like a good one for humming birds and other pollinators. As with Robert there seems to be some saturation artifacts, around the red mostly. |

I really enjoy finding the new to me critters that pose you me. I wasn't sure about adding more vignette but for grins I add some and removed a couple of twigs the were close to the bird's head. |

Lovely photo and Great job putting it together Tom. Imo Jon might be on to something with the addition of single point of interest ( just a resting place as your eye move through the scene). |

love the feel this one has. The table ands to the industrial workshop feel and imo needs to stay. I also like the pull of the open door and slanted lines, everything wants to move to the opening. I don't think it needs anything but for conversation sake I did run a tone map and tweaked the color balance a little..
Big fan of your version.

Thanks Robert, I tried to bump the blue up some using and HSL adjustment but besides the reflected sky there really wasn't much blue in the water. |
