I was uneasy with the tree all the way over to the edge, but it seemed less distracting than the lone chair, and it also gave us an odd number of chairs. Perhaps all it needs is a few steps to the right ;-)
I would still like to be there too. |

Any sunset at the beach is a good one :-). IMO the pastel colors make the shot more enjoyable and match the slow easy pace of the people in the chairs.
I tried editing out the sixth chair, but I'm not sure if it leave the scene unbalanced.

Nice photo. I agree with Robert on this one. I am having a difficulty wrapping my head around the textures.
Speaking of that how do you make them? can you share a link? |

interesting affect, maybe blur the edges of the light on the road so it blends or fades out on the road. besides that it's a cool affect. |

Lovely image,I have alway liked scenes of working farms. I can see why it's a popular area. You have several nice leading lines in this, like the dirt roads the come in from the upper corners and both mid frame sets of tree tops make nice diagonal lines.
I did a little cropping from the top & bottom ( trying to keep the feel of the original )
I felt that moving the bottom hedge shadow to the lower edge made entry into the scene easier and allowed the lines in the tall grass to lead the eye to the barn. I also toned down the empty field and the brightest highlights of the tree on the right edge, and then boosted the saturation of those area a bit.
What was grown in the large fields, might be worth a trip back who the crops are full. |

Your original comment was perfectly valid and taken as so. This whole thing got me wondering if I can set two of the custom shooting mode for just such a situation. One set to freeze the action at the gate and the second a bit slow for the pan as they run by. I would just need to swap over, I'll have to work on that LOL |

Thanks Robert
I agree that panning would add a nice degree action to the image. But also having that "moment in time" frozen has its appeal too. This was my first time photographing the races and being the only race that day with the gate close to the grandstand I choose to go with the fast shutter to freeze the moment the gates opens. I'm planning on going back out with the hopes of catching a similar seen using the panning technique.
