Steven, I just use sugar water, but I make it sweeter at the beginning of the season. If you have a bird book, it should tell you what time of year they migrate through your area. They are truly amazing creatures. Very territorial as well. |

Thank you both. When I saw that the wings were hardly visible, I went back to try with a faster shutter speed, but she wasn't cooperating. I will be trying again. My goal is to get a REALLY good hummer picture some day!!! I have that feeder on my deck railing, so I do have opportunities. |

Iceland is on my bucket list! The color of the water is amazing, and your tack sharp focus is perfect. I can see what Lance is saying when I took part of the water out of the picture. I hope I can see some puffins some day! |

As I have been dealing with GI upset all summer, this actually makes me a little nauseated (and you said to be brutally honest!). I thought at first that it was a string of multicolored mini lights. |

I agree with Jennifer-I like the second edit better, but I also like the framing of the flower with the leaves in the original, and I like the sun shining on the lower leaves in the original. How did you get the background so black? Did you have a backdrop with you, or was it just that dark behind? If I were as proficient with Ps as is Chan (which I am obviously NOT!!), I think I would have just removed the woody stalk and left the rest of the image as it was. I am trying to learn to be very intentional about my settings and positioning! |

My first impression is WOW!!! Absolutely beautiful! I have Photopills, but I haven't used it. I need to play with it, as I want to try to photograph the Milky Way. |

Chan, the changes you made in the post processing give the vases an antiquish (if that is a word) look. I, like Jennifer, like the mistiness of the image. I am drawn to the reflections in the larger vase, particularly the small reflection in the green neck-I'm not sure if it is a reflection or a crack or flaw in the glass. At any rate, your Ps skills are extraordinary!! |

Lance, Your images always give me ideas about things to photograph. It is interesting to see how the light reflects off the ice, and how the moving water is affecting the ice that is there. The cracking in the ice really gives the image an abstract feel. |
