The whole image was overexposed, and I worked on toning down the breast area using the mask in Lr, but I'm just learning it. The feeder sways some in the wind, so that's probably why that's like that. Thank you for the suggestions. |

No, I don't think you did that at all. The focus is sharp, with catch light in both eyes. You can see the strength and determination in the way he has set his eyes. You separated him from the background. I think it is a wonderful picture--but I, too, am affected by the story--and I thought that is part of what photography is--story telling! |

I'm glad to see you using your cell phone. We are going to the Holy Land in October, and I am considering only using my cell phone. Has anyone else done this? I'm going back and forth, but there will be limited time for setting up. I may take both and decide, but I would like everyone's input. |

Chan, it has taken me a LONG time to get a decent picture of a hummer. She moves so fast. I had my camera on the tripod, and I tried manual focus and auto focus repeatedly. You can't imagine the number of images that went in the trash!!! Thank you. |

The simplicity of the image is what I like. I am drawn back to the colors of the shutters against the off white wall and the three plants perfectly placed to highlight the shutter. The soft light is beautiful, and the shadows on the wall are interesting. One thing that brings me back is the shutter fasteners on the wall. Everything in the image is perfectly placed! |

I agree with Chan! So sharp with handheld. You achieved your goal--you made me smile. I love the way your wife' s hand caresses the chipmunk's face-and your positioning was perfect, so that you were able to get the chipmunk's eye in sharp focus with your wife's thumb just above. Great image! |

IR is totally new to me. The image is striking, and it goes well with Lance's, although the are total opposites--Lance's is "dreamy" where this is sharp. It looks like it has just snowed or an ice storm. Very beautiful. |

Chan, it is hard NOT to connect this image with your emotions. My middle son had Hodgkin's disease, and although he did not have to go through bone marrow transplants, the chemo and radiation took their toll on him. I see in the image a strong, determined man. My first reaction to the picture with the title made me think of a war veteran--much the same strength and determination to survive. Great portrayal. |

I had the same reaction--2:30 a.m.!!??!! It is an interesting photo--At first glance, the image conjures up spookiness to me--like around Halloween. However, looking more closely, the delicate leaves do remind me of Japanese art. Very interesting. |
