Lance, I do like the crop, but I'm not so crazy about the BW. I think the bird gets lost in the tree--not enough contrast/separation. I do like the crop better than mine, though, as it gets rid of the empty space in the sky. Thank you. |

Chan, I think I have one with him in the open sky, but I liked the contrast of the pelican against the color of the tree. I'm sure I do, as I think I was shooting in a fast mode to catch the birds' flights. I had to lighten up the eye to make it visible. I also had to do some adjustment to the sky, as it was rather bland, which is why I think I liked the one with him against the tree. Thank you for your suggestions. |

I actually took the PSA Photoshop introduction class, and even though I "passed" it, I still do not understand it. I have watched the YouTube videos, but I need someone over my shoulder talking me through what I am doing and WHY I am doing it. That was lacking in the class. Your image is very cool. |

FANTASTIC!! I always wait to see what you share, Jennifer, because you get such great subjects and GREAT shots. I really can't add anything to what Chan and Steven said, except that not only does the flying tail show motion, but so do the straps flying from both sides of the horse, and the feeling that the rope looped around the saddle horn is about to fly off. I can see some red in the horse's eye (great sharpness) and the mane is sharp as well. Your images amaze!! I agree--MAGAZINE COVER!! |

I have never heard of Lensbaby. I was waiting on my computer to finish loading the image until I read the description. The colors are beautiful. There are so many techniques for creative imaging. I learn something new every day. Tell me more about Lensbaby--and you said Lensbaby Velvet. Is there a difference? |

Did you take it at the same time? I love the sun peeking through the clouds at the top and bottom of that cloud, reflecting on the water and lighting up the edges of the clouds "above" it. There is good separation of the main tree and the background trees. Beautiful image. I think Steven's idea of a seasonal image would be great. You could frame them together on your wall! |

I agree with Chan--I think the BW is a much more interesting image. You have separated the background nicely. I am still so new to REALLY thinking about the HOWS and WHYS that I had not noticed the lack of catch light, although I do recognize it when I see it, and I do think it adds to a person's "inner light." |

I have to agree with Steven on several of his points. I am truly drawn to the iPhone picture of your sweet puppy, but I do think it is distracting. I think if the overall image was a little wider to encompass the titles, etc., it would add to the image. That being said, having TRIED to work through Photoshop, I am in awe of this image--knowing the time, effort, and work it took to make this! GREAT JOB!!

The image definitely makes you examine it closely. I thought it was reflected in the water, but I, too, was mistaken about "which end was up." So interesting. I am like Steven in that I keep going back to the original and the second image, trying to put them all together. Where does "original 2" fit in? |

There was major cropping. Here is the other image. I hope that I am within the size constraints. |
