Beautiful shot! I like the BW and the contrast. As I'm learning to look more critically, and I know you said that you had to stay in your car, is there some sort of electrical or phone line going across between the lower two birds and the tree in the corner? I do think cloning the tree and the few scrub branches out from the bottom would enhance the image. I do not think taking the two "outliers" would add to the image. I kind of like them there. I think they add perspective. |

My first impression is that they are hot dogs that you have painted. Neat idea. |

I have never been to Michigan, and if we ever go, this is a place I would love to see and to photograph. I enjoy the more muted colors in the image. I am learning to look at all of the images with a more critical eye, as I probably would not have thought anything about the empty space on the right hand side. Thank you all for helping me learn! |

Such a majestic creature! I have a picture of a juvenile bald eagle, and there is a crop of green almost in the same place! I see that you have the R5, which has the animal eye focus. I would love to trade up for that one, but...I am going to take your advice on focusing. This image is amazing! |

Very interesting. I like the color hue in the posted one, and I'm not sure adding much more of the handle would make that much difference. I think, as Steven said, it would push the reel too far into the image and make it unbalance. It almost looks as if you have 3 fish on the line. Neat image. |

Is there a way to look at the images side by side? I see more definition in the image posted on 2/7, but I prefer the coloring of the original post. I'm in agreement with Steven--to see and appreciate what is all around us. I never would have thought to shoot this! |

WOW! Steven, thank you for this piece of advice. I really need to practice, as it appears that our Israel trip is ON for April (finally)!! I was handholding, but I really thought I had gotten the image with the best focus. However, MY EYES are terrible, so I don't always pick the best one! I have started using my readers to look at my images because of that. It's awful to get "mature!" Thank you again. |

Thank you, Chan. I need to be more aware of that when I'm cropping. |

Thank you, Jennifer. We are so lucky to live where we do. I would love to catch him when he has caught his fish. |
