It would be great to see you at HayCamera Club any Tuesday. Would you be willing to judge one of our competitions or do a presentation some time? |

Something new to me to select such a small part of the image to develop but it works when blurring is involved. Like Brad, I am drawn to the right lower corner which becomes moving water in a landscape. The red area is a bit empty so the ghosting in of 'something' might give it more meaning. However, your intention, Brian, of drawing the viewer in to question what it is about would be negated. On a second look there is some interesting texture in the red area which I like. Nobody would guess what the original was.

Hi Brad. Your image does create a feeling of disconnectIon or maybe separation which perhaps is the feeling you were trying to express. Both the landscape and the diver exiting the image somehow make me question' what is going on here?' Where is he going? What is he leaving behind? However, by placing the diver where he is the image for me doesn't work visually and is somehow unbalanced. If you follow Brian's suggestions the image may look better visually but perhaps will lose that 'feeling' you were trying to create. |

I agree Brad. Layers in PS is much more versatile and produces a clearer image. |

Thanks for your suggestion Tom.I may do that but not sure the image warrants the effort. I probably won't use it again and as it is not in layers would find it difficult to improve. It was just a bit of 'fun' really. |

Thank you Brian for your comments. I did try a Pep Ventosa technique image a few weeks ago but was not very pleased with the results as the overlaps were too obvious. I didn't use a tripod and it was difficult to line up the central element in the picture which was a globe shaped vase. I ended up with several vases. I think I need to find a tree standing on it's own for a bit more success. We have just had a talk at Hay Camera Club about Creative Photography from a lady called Lisa Rendell. It was quite illuminating. Do you know of her? |
