I agree with the others, a very interesting effect with the circular column of birds above the subject. And a great sky.
If you have enough pixels, maybe crop a bit tighter to enhance the circular 'kettle' by removing the outliers lower left and top. |

As others noted, superbly done to have both subjects in focus.
If your LR can mask the subjects perfectly, maybe keep the left flower and remove the right one to highlight that 2nd approaching butterfly. But even without that, this is a keeper. |

The footprints add a lot to an already nice shot. I agree with re-cropping to add a bit more room on the right and straighten the horizon. Like you say, the story is better told with some of the foreground, but a bit cleaner image without it. |

Beautiful bird, and quite impressive work in post. Even though there are some lighting issues as you point out, it's still way better than original sky. The existing crop works for me because it features those menacing clouds, matched by the menacing eye.
I'd be tempted to push yellow saturation very slightly in the eye and claws, and desaturate the green leaves. Was the bird watching the gnus? |

If the workshop helped you achieve this shot, this photo is a great endorsement for their course.
I might try to remove or subdue the few twigs and leaves upper left corner, without creating a black hole. |
