Thanks Jason, the sky was an interesting experiment, but I agree that orig-2 is a better image. |

Thanks Michael, the colors are vivid even in real life. This one had more rust colored breast feathers but there are some where the lilac coloring is much more prominent. |

Thanks Richard, I think that school was very popular... with orig-2 emerging as a clear preference, which I would agree with, truth be told. |

Thanks David, I also like that separation in clouds near the tail feathers, but agree original-2 is the better result. |

Original-2 is the same photo, just cropped and adjusted in post.
SW Kenya (if you're going to the Maasai Mara) will be great in August -- the river crossings are spectacular. |

Thanks Larry, I agree, the sky version is over the top... |

Here's a 2nd alternate example, this one keeping some brown leaves for the softer look inherent in the original scene. |

Michael: I actually think the log adds more than it detracts.
I agree with previous suggestions about a tighter crop and eliminating distracting upper left sky. And I think a BW treatment might better highlite the combination of your subjects (dark jagged log and smooth white water), while playing off the texture and contrast between them. Two very quick examples below: the first basic BW. |

Jason: A great emotional capture.
I would agree with others that minor improvement might be had by lessening the distracting detail (mother's fur detail, highlights) and subtle vignetting. The dark area just above the baby's head and just below its foot is ideal, if it could be replicated in post throughout the rest of the image. |

Larry:
Nice shot, that bird is on a mission.
I agree that slightly desaturating the rocks especially behind bird (background) might help pop the subject, but only if being nit-picky. |

Richard:
I've never (knowingly) seen a bluebird, so thanks for a beautiful specimen.
In terms of setup, I'm wondering if there's an option to have more distance between perches and foliage, to enhance bokeh? |

Bud: I love shooting Ospreys too and have seen lots of Osprey pics but never a photo with this type of action. Kudos. Curious, with the Z9/Z lens killer combo where you lucky enough to get a burst of shots in a series, or just a singleton? |

David: Very nice effect, getting both some detail and some motion, achieving the effect you were seeking. Not only can I hear the water, I can taste it...
The only 2 minor adjustments I could suggest would be to (1) lower exposure on the sunlit trees and lower yellow saturation a bit and (2) I would straighten (rotate right) the water line where stream emerges from sunlight, because it's tilted enough (in my eyes) to be distracting. Even if the camera was true horizontal, I always try to make the horizon look straight when water is involved. But picture is still great without adjustments.
