This is a great subject, beautifully captured, sharp and well exposed. Postcard perfect. The scene is made more idyllic by removing the green foliage, not to mention reconstruction of the tail feathers. I don't I would have had the patience.
My only suggestion would have been to remove the shadowed ripples top r.h. corner, but this certainly doesn't detract from the shot. |

The scene sure was asking to be photographed, and you grabbed it. The intense blues offset by the tans and browns are satisfying. Removing foreground distractions are often the best solution.
If I can add anything, and this is just a generality, I think if an animal is the subject, which I think is the case here (although those gorgeous mountains could be), I'd try to hang around to get a shot of the subject looking at the camera, or at least with its head up. Not always possible, obviously. |
