As others have said, the bottom portion is the most important, but at the same time, cropping the top just takes away the feeling of the the scene being a mountainous area (and you lose the contrast of tones). I like the contrast and colors. I do agree with Jose that the bottom bright road does tend to act as a blocker.
If you did not care about being true to the image, you could "move" the house to above the road. |

Normally I prefer to see curving buildings fixed in Photoshop, but this fisheye version with all the distortion really makes this image, especially your choice to use B&W for the contrast and impact. |

I really like your treatment. The original is mostly one color anyway, and this high key effect adds a lot of impact. The center of the image would also make a great image, or even the left third. |

I think I would prefer it as a B&W. You can add more contrast for such without worrying about color shifts, plus there is only blue in the image anyway. See what you think. |

The new "eyes" are fascinating. But I would never have guessed that the other part was an actual worm. So without the title, I would be left guessing what this was all about. |

There is an interesting symmetry, with the head in the center. The bottom right light gray area may be slightly distracting, but not in a major way. |
