I really like all the layers in this. I know you purposely used two trees as framing devices, but the tree on the left is fairly large, and it almost acts as a breaker to moving into the image. I did admittedly a quick Content Aware, which left some defects, but I wanted to see how it looked with one tree. I think a view like the adjusted image invites one into and through the picture. Of course, that is just my 2 cents, and you certainly have a nice image as is. |

I like your vision. The original is just another travel image, but the close up shows great patterns broken up nicely by the buildings on the upper left. I keep wondering if content aware to the bottom left trees would improve this or not. |

The late lighting gives this a dreamy soft look that is very appealing. Having the mountain in the distance makes all the difference. |

Very nice trio. Looks like a good candidate for mono too. Did they ever get close enough to isolate the little one? |

I agree with Kirsti in that I think the colors, especially red, are a little too saturated for my preference. I believe some more vibrance would work well, but it can be a fine line from there to colors that seem too bright. Increasing contrast for more "pop" works for me, but unless you set whatever filter you used for that to luminosity blending mode, it also increases saturation. I like the composition, and the removal of the boat really helped. Very nice image. |

That was a clever idea with the chiffon, but in this digital age, I think it is better (or an option) to shoot normally, and use the special effects post process. I believe that the dreamy affect would have worked better digitally (which was your concern). I tried increasing the contrast in the color original before going to B&W using the converter in PS, to get more detail in the face, and darken the blue for more contrast to the face. I also cropped from the left, so that the person was a third of the image, as I thought there was too much space.
See what you think. |
