As others have stated, the one plane going up is what gives this image the dynamics. Some might object that there is no motion in the props, but in this case, I don't believe it is necessary, as the smoke trails serve that purpose of providing a sense of motion. |

Lots of mystery here that works very well. I might look at toning down that one brightest out of focus area just a bit. |

Thank goodness for camera raw! You did not mention if you applied any noise reduction in the process; the noise level is very low in the final result, which would be a testament to the camera. The image seems just a tad dark (but still acceptable), and the histogram bears that out. I wonder if slightly darkening the stem below the bottom wing might help, because outside of the bird, it is the brightest spot. Great capture. |

Agree with it looking like a formal portrait, since you got such a wonderful pose. Great framing. Would not change anything. |

Great symmetry and exposure. You nailed it. Agree with Jose about the one bokeh. |

I prefer the mono version too; colors can sometimes be a distraction. I like the composition. However, for me, the blankets/pillows on the couch are more noticeable in B&W, due to the lighter tones. I am not bothered by the darker dots on the couch itself, but my eye tends to wonder to the blanket, and perhaps selecting a darker grey might help. |

Yes, I see the halos on the left, probably from compression and the high contrast there. I had the same issue on the right, and will have to work on the left too. In this case, I probably would have had better results in PS< where the masks can be more precise. |
