Yes, but a lot more work than cropping! |

Great image. It almost has a painterly quality to it. I think Snapseed is the best phone app for editing images. (No wonder why Google bought NIK filters for the technology.) |

Nice framing. I might suggest cloning out the upper right cliff hanging over, as it is darker. (My eye at first wanted to see that as a bad vignette.) |

Makes me want to view a larger version of this, where all this detail would shine. I wonder if cropping some of the sky would emphasize more of what is important (and help eliminate Mervyn's concern about a blank sky).
You wondered about cleaning up the halos; this can be done in PS with the clone tool by first selecting sky, and then cloning up to the tree area to cover up the halo, since the trees are now protected from your clone brush. A little labor intense, but it works quite well. And while using the clone tool, I would remove the the lower left flower that is against the frame. (Border patrol!)

There is an incredible amount of detail here, almost too much for the eyes. Not sure if it is just an issue with jpeg artifacts and small size, but it appears to be a tad too sharp. I like how you combined two images. |

Great subject, I agree with Mervyn that some selective darkening around the boots would emphasize them more. |

I did not find the background too distracting, considering the power of the main subject, but you could do a rough selection of the background and give it about 5 pixels of blur (for the above res). You might want to crop just a little more on the bottom to eliminate his knee.
When trying the above, I also noticed the selection around the instrument right above his hand, and the darkening lines are evident. You may want to go back and blur the mask for the background if you created one to soften the hard transition lines. |
