Oops, I meant to say highly feathered selection, not blurred selection. |

I prefer the B&W version overall, but only because I think the original color needs a slight contrast increase. The B&W is very contrasty, leading to more "stars" in the image, and I like the lesser amount in the color. The only real color in the image is the blue, which could be left in or added to a B&W version. I like the blue effect, as it increases the feeling of cold. I would like to see the very bottom selected with high feathering, and using more contrast there to eliminate the soft frost effect on the very bottom. I tried this, adding more contrast and lightening, but masking out the effect in the stars. See what you think. |

Great composition and color. I agree with Jose about taking just a little from the sky to break the splitting of the sky and foreground to a less symmetrical view. I think that applying more shadow exposure in LR or Camera Raw (to the bottom half) and lowering the highlights would cut some of the high contrast in this image, and alleviate the super bight poles somewhat. |

Nice detail and symmetry. You could crop a little on the left to enhance the symmetry, but I don't think that is necessary. My only suggestion is a minor thing to help the symmetry, and that would be to try a blurred selection on the left side to apply some slight lightening and contrast to try to match the lighting effect on the right. |

I love the curves and the scaling shown by the tree. My only suggestion is the same as Jose's about removing light areas on the shadow side. |
