I agree with the others that a little more room on the right would have balance that side of your image a little better. However, the balance between the light and darker area of the image is nice. The suggestions that Trey made on your image including making a square crop and cropping are good. It shows how the eye goes right to the important areas of the image. This is really a nice image with complimentary colors. I look forward to what else you present us in the future. |

Your attention to details in post processing is always evident in all your images and this image is no exception. Changing to b/w, our eye is not distracted by color but just on the subject himself. The changes you made to the subject are subtle but important such as making the subject more grittier, the gloves smaller and using liquify to enhance his muscles....a nice final image Gordon. |

Jay, It was interesting to hear why you took this image and the history behind it. I would consider this a record shot of what was important to you at the time of your last visit to Lake Erie. As a waterscape image, I agree with the others that it needed a little something else...perhaps a dolphin jumping out of the water but difficult to do since there are no dolphins in Lake Erie....The cropping is nice as it brings our focus directly onto the rocks and you brought the picture to life with the exposure. |

I'm sorry Sanford that you had trouble with the transmission of your image of Eikando Temple. I look forward to seeing another image of the temple in your March presentation. I agree with the others in that I don't see much of the temple because the red leaves are so dominant and hide much of the temple itself but I do like the reflections in the water and, again, look forward to seeing more of the images you took there. |

What first attracted me to this image was the unity of warm colors (foliage, warm colors in the roof. stone on the bottom part of barn and the wood of the barn, and yes, a few yellow flowers in the green grass). Trey, you really brought your image to life with lighting up the exposure in the image as well as the emphasis on the cloud structure in the sky. A very beautiful sky as a backdrop to the round barn. It's great to see that you are making a project of the round barns as there are lot of barns around here (not round barns) that are in disrepair where I live. Another wonderful image Trey. |

The figure of the man is a very small element in the scene but an important one and adds to the scene. My first observation is to see that he is surrounded by space, metal, light flooring designed in rectangles. His conscious is squarely on his phone while his body is on some sort of remote control going in the direction that it has gone before. Questions arise...is he going to work or going home? Why is he alone? I agree with Trey that cropping on the top would add to the image as extra space at the top doesn't add to the image. I do love this image and think you have a future in street photography...a great image Ian. Posted: 01/20/2026 08:02:27 |
