Thanks for the historical information on the building and why it was built. I always appreciation your explanations of the steps you took to create this image (such as taking two exposures and why). Overall a very pleasing image. I like the way the stream cascades down the hillside into a waterfall and continues over the rocks below. The tones in the image are spot on. Nice image Gordon. |

Good idea to remove the birds in the background. This way the eye isn't distracted by the white birds. I feel the lighting on the bird in the final image could be lighter, especially with the dark legs against the shadow area between the two rocks. Do you ever using masking in Photoshop or Lightroom. You could select the bird (select subject in masking) and keep the bird as in the original or darken just a bit from the original. In masking you could select "background "to darken the rocks. This is all a suggestion. Overall, I like the way you cropped the image so the bird is the main focus without distractions. Great capture....nice image Jay. |

I like the way that the dark and light reflections in the foreground make for an inverted "V" as this draws me into the image. and my eye goes directly to Mt. Fuji. I do find the two white squares on the right a distraction and a suggestion would be to remove the white squares they are on as my eye keeps going over there. The final image is a wonderful improvement over the original. |

Removing the distraction (soft evergreen tree on far right edge) was a good call. The contrast between the silver roof/doors and the red roof really enhances the barn. Adding warmth to the path and golden yellow leaves and enhancing the greens really completes the image and adds life to the image. Darkening the skies gives depth and provides contrast to the overall background. Nice processing on this image...another one of your beautiful images of the Wisconsin countryside. |

I like the angle of the rock shelf in the foreground with the beautiful warm light reflections from the sunrise. Placing the foreground rock shelf where you did draws the eye right into the image where it leads the view right to the sun. I like the soft lighting on the water just beyond the first rock shelf The only suggestion would be to come in on the left side just a bit. Overall, a really nice composition Ian. |
