76 Nov 25 Comment Henriette BrasseurConsidering all the elements you had to deal with I think you did a nice job. I decided to play around with your image because I'm not particularly good at processing misty images so thought I would give it a go. I did crop the image on all sides except the right side and did leave the wave in (though I like your image without the wave also). My interpretation is a bit lighter than your image and think it probably wasn't that bright a day when you took this image. Kudos to you for taking this image...what a nice place to be at sunrise. 76 Nov 25 Comment Outstanding architectural image Gordon. Your processing is perfection...a lot of attention to detail which shows in the final image. Love the lines, shadows and curves in the building with the sky as a nice backdrop and foreground reflections in the water. Question Gordon...You mentioned that you used a polarizer to control reflections on the building/water and a graduated ND filter for the left side of the image. Did you handhold the graduated ND filter in front of the lens while the polarizer was attached to the the lens itself (or on a lens holder)? I notice you make gradual changes to your image beginning in Lightroom and then more changes in PS. Myself, often I make the mistake of making to many changes in Lightroom instead of making gradual changes before proceeding to PS. Your methodology of processing an image gradually is something I will pay more attention to in my own processing in the future. Nov 17th
76 Nov 25 Comment This image is all about lighting and timing. It's not always easy to get the shot you want when on a boat that is full of people. Cropping, eliminating distractions and opening up the exposure really helps the viewer to see what is going on in the image...all good choices. I probably would have eliminated the object on the right. The timing is great with the fish in the tern's beak. Looking forward to seeing other images from your trip Sanford. Nov 17th
76 Nov 25 Comment Like the conversion to b/w.The definition of the clouds in the sky provide a nice backdrop to the dark car in the foreground. The shadows are dark enough though just lightened enough to see the textured ground. The reflections on the body of the car came out beautifully. It is apparent that a lot of thought was put into processing this image, Trey. Quite a difference between the original and the final image. Nov 17th
76 Nov 25 Comment What a beautiful Sydney Metro. The staircase is well positioned leading the viewer right into the image along with all the beautiful lines. The lighting and shadows are well processed. When I look at this image, while the stair case leads us into the image, the lines of the roof at the far end lead the viewer back to the staircase...a well thought out image and well composed. Beautiful image Ian. Nov 17th
