The above image was taken with the older Lensbaby Soft Focus optic. Most likely I probably took the above image at a f stop of 2.8 or less. Recently I purchased the newer Soft Focus optic that has the f-stop incorporated into the optic so that you can get the center in more sharp focus (also depends on f stop). I also have the lens baby Velvet 56....You are full of historical information...now I'll never forget the 40th anniversary of Prince's Purple Haze! |

Your processing of the light on the leaves of the plants really brings the picture alive.
The greens in the background was brought up just enough to give the Blood Root a nice backdrop and the shadows just right contrast with the green backdrop. The texture on the vegetation is quite nice. Happy for you that you were fortunate to see the Blood Root at Skunk-Foster Nature Area. |

Wow, what a great subject! The gesture of his hand with the finger/thumb pointing is an important element in the image. And the framed features of the "Camargue Cowboy" is just perfect. I would agree with Gordon that a tad more lighting in the face would reveal more the shadowy area. Perhaps in Lightroom Classic, click on the masking icon and select radial gradient and under the heading of tone, move the shadow slider and perhaps the exposer slider just a tiny bit. Thank you for sharing this great image with us. My family comes from Southern France in the Bearn region (Pyrenees Mountains) so I'm always happy to see images from France. |

Black and White interpretation was a good choice for this image. When lighting is quite bright on the water it really helps to change to B/W. The placement of the subject to the boat in the frame is nice and makes for a nice silhouetted image. |

I always admire your ability to think things through as to what you want your final image to look like. Your thought process and ability to carry through your ideas is admirable. Aside from lighting, it's attention to details that count. You processed the image of Carla beautifully. I'm just mesmerized by the folds of the material enveloping her body. Well done Gordon. |

Great timing on capturing this image. The angles of the hands, body and feet are spot-on and I especially like how the feet come together to form a triangle of space.
Nicely exposed and processed Sophie. |

I really like how you processed the clematis image...very nice. I like the softness of the hard edges and sharpening of the sepals. You have shown me that there is yet hope in re-processing an image to make it look better. Thank you Gordon for taking the time to show and explain the steps on how you processed the image. The image was taken several years ago but I do have a few other images taken at that time and maybe the sepal is a little sharper In those images.
