76 Dec 23 Reply Thanks for your suggestions Gordon. I shall try your suggestions to improve the contrast in the scene. Dec 27th
76 Dec 23 Reply Yes, I don't think I would like to shovel snow continuously and deal with the icy conditions that people in the northern, central and eastern parts of the states have in the wintertime. It's rare to show where I live but when it has I got really excited but in a few days it was gone. Dec 18th
76 Dec 23 Reply I live on the west coast of California and about every 10 years + we get some snow which never last very long but does get me excited. I'm like a crazy person, getting in my car and driving to see the snow on the coastal mountains. Thank you for your comments on the image. Dec 18th
76 Dec 23 Reply Picture was taken several years ago and at that time I don't think that I opened up enough to get the right exposure on the scene. In the final image I brightened up the image so it would reflect the whiteness of the snow and thus lightened up the canyon walls. Thank you for your other suggestions. Dec 18th
76 Dec 23 Comment The wing feathers surrounding the swan's head draws the viewer's eye directly to what the swan is doing..grooming itself. The added reflection at the bottom is nice. The only suggestion I would make is to add a round oblong gradient and lighten the center of the image...not much...just a little. Sometimes in life, when observing wildlife/nature, it is the simple gestures such as grooming, that add to the story of what you are trying to portray. Nice capture Sophie. Dec 18th
76 Dec 23 Comment Another "wow" image Gordon. Nice symmetry in the image. Colors in the mountains are pleasing with the sky colors. In the "V" notch I like how the town and river are in the center with the layers of mountains on each side of the notch. The handling of the lights and darks is outstanding. The shading of the shadows on the mountains in the foreground to background is spot on. Well done, Gordon. Dec 18th
76 Dec 23 Comment Kudos to you for creating the final image from a challenging background. I would suggest that you play around with the shadows and light on the bird's body....maybe lighten the birds eyes a bit. Great idea to use blur to eliminate the netting as I would have never thought of that. Good sharpening on the bald eagle and nice soft background to focus the viewer's eyes on the bald eagle. 76 Dec 23 Comment I like the layering of foreground, middle ground and background. The symphony of colors in the image were enhanced beautifully. I haven't tried HDR in Topaz as of yet but in this image it makes a positive difference. Removing the distractions (fence, post) enhanced the image as the eye flows smoothly from bottom to top. This is an image to hang on your wall Trey. Dec 18th
76 Dec 23 Comment You captured a nice expression on the woman. The darker background lets us focus on the subject and is not a distraction in this beautiful portrait. The lighting in the image is really nice, subtle but just enough so that the lighting is flattering to the subject. I always look forward to your travel image. Dec 17th
