Thank you Jay... I haven't taken too many backlit images but one that stands out for me is of a flying great white egret with the sun above angled to the right with the result that the wings looked lit from underneath. |

I appreciate that you took the time to show another way of how to present a stronger image making the fiddle necks stand out. The image, how you presented it, is quite nice. Thank you Gordon. |

Creative and imaginative. I just got through with a four day zoom workshop on photoshop creativity (composites) and see how much attention you have to pay to details from shading, shadows and lighting to make your image "pop". I agree with Sophie that adding a bit of blurring to the background would make the main subject stand out a bit more. The fronds remind me of a periscope, looking out on the horizon as mimicking the main subject looking thru the binoculars. I was just amused by the relationship. Well done. |

I really like it when photographers think outside of the box and present something to us that is different yet interesting and mysterious. Too many photographers are rigid in their approach to photography with everything having to be perfect and precise. I like how flexible you are in the type of photography you present to us wether straight forward, whimsical or abstract. This image with its colorful lights, cars and darkness gives our imagination a license to interpret the image in any direction that we like. Love this image...would love to see more like this image from you in the future. Well done, Ian. |

This image is visually very interesting. Visually, I see movement, so many interesting shapes, texture, sharpness and warmth in this image. There's a lot to see in this image. You made a good choice in cropping this image as you presented it to us. Well done, Trey. |

Great action shot Sanford. Showing us the interaction between the birds and the adult elephant along with the baby elephant imitating the mother is priceless. I like your processing on the final image. Others have mentioned the sky. You can always go back and mask the sky and try reducing the yellow and adding blue. I hope you will grace us with more of your images of the African savannah. Wonderful image. |

Lovely image Sophie. You caught the action at the right moment. I like the separation of the couple and the angle and placement of the couple's shadow in the image. Sorry that you were placed near a garbage can at the show but you made the most of it with your ability to capture an outstanding image. Well done, Sophie. Congratulations on your acceptance at the Del Colline International competition. That is quite an honor. |
