Your switch from "fruit &flowers" didn't suffer any when you creating this vintage tool image.Your talents in creating beautiful and imaginative still life images are exemplary. The sepia tone really works here along with the textured wood that gives a nice backdrop to the tools. The light on the tools are subtle (shadowy) and the highlights well placed both on the tools as well as the background. I like the details too from the drill in the foreground to the wood shavings...well thought out image. |

I love architecture and realize it can be difficult to get the right perspective and different shapes to form a cohesive and balanced image You did a great job in pulling all the elements together. Converting the image to b/w lets the viewer's eyes concentrate on all he lines that make up this beautiful structure. Well done Jay. |

A simple but beautiful scene. I like the conversion to b/w and the placement of the girl in the scene. The frame around the image is nice because it leads the viewer's eye into the scene and it is as though we were there alongside you, the photographer, as you were taking the picture. I like the contrast of the scene as it adds to the scene but doesn't detract from it. Also important to the scene is that the body of water has a triangle shape to it with the narrow point at the far end coming down the sides with the line crossing at the edge of the girl's feet. Well seen. |

I like the way that you choose simple things in your photography that many people might miss on walks in their daily life. This simple cattail has elegance and beauty in its curving lines and textured ice particles. Burning the background of the cattail really makes the ice particles stand out. Nice rhythm in the immediate background with the curving lines. Another outstanding image from you Trey. |

The conversion to b/w makes the scene more ominous and dramatic. The shillouette of the trees against the sky is quite stark and adds to the feeling of isolation and fear of the unknown in the stormy skies. Ian, you captured quite well in this scene some of what you experienced and felt during the floods. I really like how you post-processed the scene so that the viewer could sense the fear and isolation you must have felt when you had to evacuate your home during the floods. Well done. |
