Thank you Jay. I always appreciate the comments on my image because it helps to get another viewpoint on what draws the viewer into the image. The comments always help me to grow as a photographer and I have learned so much from everyone in this group....always like to read the comments on everyone's images in the group. |

Thank you so much for your thoughts on the butterfly image, Sophie. It is true that in certain photographic clubs, if your style of photography doesn't fit the accepted norm of that club, then the image may not do well. My thought is to trust one's instinct and present images that express your feelings and not those of the club member's biases . Then, and only then, are you true to yourself in following your creative expression and not that of others. |

Ian, you have such way with expressing your thoughts into written words. I'm really appreciative of the words you used to express your feelings on the arctric ice clematis image. I have always felt that first you must master your camera, learn post processing and then lead with your heart in capturing a scene to express what you feel. |

Thank you so much for kind words of encouragement and the reasons why you like the image. I think a portfolio on a certain subject would be a good thing for me to pursue but like you I like nature/wildlife as well as the creative world of photography. The creative world is challenging for me at times but I do like a challenge and photomontage, and also applying a painterly look to some of my images, are things that I like to do. Well, Ian, I shall give it some thought and see what I come up with. |

A great image Sophie. I especially like all the design elements in the image. There are several elements of triangles and a nice round shape in this image. The position of the light coming from the upper left shining on the trapeze performers leads to light and shadow that surround the sister's bodies. There is so much to see in this image as my eye never wanders outside of the image but stays focused on the artists. I like the angle at which you took the image but, especially the positioning and angles of the body, hands and legs....can't forget the flowing hair. Well seen Sophie. |

Your crop is very nice and brings out the most important and interesting part of the image. Choosing a high depth of field really brings out and enhances the sun stars. Nice contrast with the blue sky. Nice capture. |

Trey, you really brought this image to life with your post processing skills. The warmth and smoothness of the water is a great backdrop for the bright, textured ice framing the water. I, too, see many "faces" in the ice. The "face" that I first saw was of the buffalo head (upper right) that brought back memories of the buffalo nickel (5 cent piece). Nice sharpness on the ice. The contrast of warmth vs. coolness (water vs. ice) is a nice contrast. Well done. |
