Nice post processing on the b/w image...nice tones. I especially ike the position of the subject's hand, instrument and his acknowledgement of you with his eyes. I think you have a knack for taking street photography. No apologies necessary for using a small pocket Lumix camera ...You captured the moment and that's all that counts. I look forward to seeing more of you street images...well done, Sophie. |

Oh, what a tease you are. I just want to reach in and have a slice of bread. When I was young my parents (French) use to go to the French bakery once a week and the bread was so yummy and the crust just added another dimension to the taste. Your image flooded me with memories of my childhood. So strong is your image with its shadow and light shaping all the elements in the image. All the various objects in the image contribute to the strength of the image. I like the dark background as the eye of the viewer is centered on the image itself and never wanders outside of the image. Well done, Heidi |

Beautiful rendition of the Milkweed Seed. The smoothness of the Milkweed reminds me of silk threads. I think it would be distracting if you had everything in focus as there is just enough in sharp focus in the foreground. B/W conversion was a good choice as well as well as cropping the image to show us this part of the Milkweed. Good choices all around in your post processing, Jay. |

At first glance the changes seemed so subtle but upon closer inspection of both images the changes you made are quite apparent. Taking bracketed images and processing in Aurora, I can see how it affected the subtle colors in the leaves of the tree and the bushes in the foreground from the original image. I also like the placement of the foreground tree with the leaves as it bends gracefully to the right into the barren tree. Well seen Trey. |

Sanford, Torres del Paine is on my bucket list. My brother lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Once, several years ago, we drove thru Patagonia all the way to the lake region just shy of the Chilean border not too far from Torres del Paine, but alas, my brother had to get back Buenos Aires so I never saw this area up close. I like the complementary colors of the blues and green in the image with the touch of orange flowers in the foreground. You brought a lot of definition to the image and I like the way you brightened the image. The image has a lot of depth.....well done Sanford. |

I like the angle at which you took the image and your decision to make a panorama was a good one because of the angle of the clouds and the direction of the waves. The mood of the image is wonderful and you lightened the image just enough for the details in the rocks and waves to be seen. Setting the shutter at 1/8 sec gave just enough softness to the water. I must remember to do that...I either shoot the waves at 2-4 sec or very sharp but 1/8 sec setting is perfect. The rock lining the bottom and part of the right side of the image really anchor this image. When I look at your image, I stay focus within the image and my eye doesn't wander out of it...a very strong image Ian. |

Thanks Ian for your comments and for seeing what I was trying to convey. I came upon this scene late afternoon and waited for the right light to emphasize the beautiful lines, textures, shadows, etc. Difficult at times, I have learned to become more disciplined, not running all over the place trying to get a lot of images but instead to concentrate on one scene that is aesthetically pleasing with the idea of discovering the design elements contained within the scene. Again, thank you Ian. |
