Hello Fran,
What a lovely rework you have done. It is quite lovely; however, I really feel like it tells a different story and the dog appears deceased rather than dreaming.
I believe my image tells my story quite well as I see it. My dog naps in that position on the arm of that chair regularly and goes off into dreamland dreaming about who knows what. I placed the clock on the photo to emphasize the time of day (12:19 can be seen as an afternoon nap or as after midnight when sleeping is usually happening). I prefer to keep the dog sharper in the image because I do not want him to appear deceased but just dreaming (I tried softening him earlier on and did not like the feel of that). Someone suggested distorting the clock, but I prefer to keep it as is because it strongly emphasizes the time and is not part of the dream. Some have also suggested adding a bone etc., but that would project to the viewer what the dog is dreaming about. I do not know what the dog is dreaming about, and that was what made me move to create the image in the first place. So, I prefer leaving those additions out of the image. I think clouds, dog, clock are the three elements necessary for this image to tell my story and allow the viewer to think about what the dog might be dreaming about.
With all that said, I believe the image holds together tells my story simply and well, but also encourages a viewer to think about the time of day and what the dog may be dreaming about.
Again, thank you for you input!
Enjoy the day!

I think it is perfect. The slight difference in opacity shows the new/old you want but doesn't make her a distraction! Well done! |

Thank you for taking us to the pink flowers in your garden. I love the feel of this image and the pretty lady peeking through the flowers. |

Such a fun creation! This little girl reminds me of my now 36 year old daughter when she was having fun at the beach many years ago. I too would adjust the shadow. Otherwise well done! |

Your rendering gives such an impressionistic style to the composition. Lovely! |

This is a beautifully executed image, but I too would adjust the white that the girl is wearing. |

Thank you for this kind words! My dog Mick (Jagger - I'm very much a Rolling Stones fan from way back)) is an especially loving boy who also sleeps a lot (he's 9 years old), so this picture is special to me. |

Hello Georgianne!
Thank you for that suggestion! You are exactly right I will go back and distort the clock some and try to repost it soon.
My 2 dogs are master sleepers for sure.
Best,
Gwen |
