I do like Richards version mainly for bringing out more detail of the adult eagle. To crop or not crop either version is good. My eyes are not as good as they used to be so I don't necessarily see the subtle changes in the other areas that Richard made. But for me cropping depends on whether one can keep the detail. By just improving the detail on the main subject one's brain will automatically think the rest of picture is better also even though nothing else was changed. Hope that makes sense. |

This photo does tell a story. Do agree there are some distracting elements. Perhaps crop a little more on the right side. Have you tried the photo in Black and White? Think that might give it more contrast. Should make the scene look even more lonely. Light pink is a happy color for me. Thinking this is the time to ask as to what things are considered taboo to photograph here. I belong to another camera organization that discourages pictures of the homeless on their website. |

Great shot! I like the crop in the main photo. Usually at tracks there is too much background clutter. Windows etc in the background. I also find in this photo there is no need for some blur to suggest motion. The runner is off the ground and clearing a hurdle. Not something a hurdler can pose for. Some motion blur does not detract from the photo either. Nice clear focus. This picture works for me. |

Very nice! Besides the positive affects of the lighting I like the way the two white lines on the side of the boat leads the eye from the back to the bow and makes the bow look like it is pointing at the Milkyway. |
