Hi Jack. My view is different than the others. I agree with your thinking that this may not be the best scene for a B&W IR. Your composition and processing are good and the scene is interesting, but as you suggested, the important items get lost. The higher-contrast versions here concentrated on the mountains and the sky, but I believe that you wanted to focus on the town. |

Thanks. The property is in reasonable shape. Irises are blooming in the garden. I liked the tree and the yellow house more than looking at it as abandoned. |

Hi Palli. You really found an interesting tree trunk with good textures. I like the cropping and stretching the top. I would consider cropping even tighter to concentrate on the trunk with some branches and leaves around it. Good work. |

Hi Gary. Beautiful scene and good work with it. The wide tonal range makes the picture very dynamic. The darker tones in the distance give the picture depth. Some of the highlights are clipped, but it's common to this type of IR pictures, especially when there are leaves that face the bright sky. Nicely done. |

Hi Melanie. This is a wonderful find and a great scene for IR photography. You did bring out the details and textures that make the picture pop. The composition with the foreground objects creating a nice diagonal line works well. I like to keep the clouds soft without the effect of the detail Extractor. Overall, interesting and beautiful b&w picture. |
