Thanks. It's hard to see it without a white border, but I cropped out the lighter area in the lower part of the image. |

Thank you. It is indeed there. I considered removing it, but decided to avoid the risk of creating artifacts, because it's right on top of the roof. Yes, I can do it the right way, but ended up with what's presented here. |

Thanks, Jack. It's funny that whenever I judge competitions or do presentations, I suggest a 2-pixel white border. Yet, I neglected to do it here. Of course, I agree with your comment. |

Hi Henry. Welcome to our group. You made me the 2nd newest member. This is a beautiful first entry here. I did look at your portfolio in your previous group and think that you'll contribute here and enjoy your new friends. I've taken the train between Frankfurt and Bonn a few times when I had a client in Bonn. I could see the beautiful castles, but couldn't take pictures. Your handling of this color IR picture is excellent. The puffy clouds in the background add drama and beauty. The picture appears very sharp with great details, in spite of being hand held. Nicely done. |

Hi Emil. I don't think that I'll ever get tired of good barn pictures. You found a beautiful subject and composed the scene nicely. The processing was gentle and didn't create any artifacts. I may try a bit more contrast, but without losing the softness of the overall scene. Maybe just adjusting the white point in Levels or Curves. Nicely done. |

Hi Palli. I really like this story-telling, yet abstract, picture. Your timing was perfect and the centered composition works. The picture is not static at all. You got her action and expression. Post processing brought out the details in the dark areas, without over exposing the highlights. I may use Viveza to lighten up her face, just a tad. The people in the background add to the scene and make the picture even more dynamic. Nicely done. |

Hi Gary. Excellent composition and processing of the picture. The light didn't come from the best direction, and the front of the building is in the shade, but you handled it well. It does make the white foliage stand out against the darker architecture. |

Hi Charles. Nice composition with the trees in the foreground framing the scene, the bench off center, and the trees in the background. The color processing is good too. I would probably clone out the small sections of the structures, but still very nicely done as presented. |

Hi Jack. Great perspective. It's funny that I just asked Melanie if she also took the scene in her picture from the middle of the road. I often do that and have the road lead the viewer through the scene. I like your composition with the sky taking the majority of the space. The clouds are beautiful. Nicely done. |

Hi Melanie. Yes, dramatic skies are great for photography and especially for IR photography. The scene and composition are beautiful. I, personally, prefer smoother skies. I find that the Color Efex Pro Detail Extractor and Viveza Structure make the sky look grungy. I reduce the effect or mask the sky completely. I wonder if you took the same shot standing in the middle of the road. |
