66 Apr 22 Comment Hi Jack. I've been there many years ago and have no pictures. The arrangement of foreground, main subject and background makes you find interesting details everywhere. While at first it looks busy, I find that it works. The longer I look, the more I explore. I like Gary's adjustment too. Nicely done. Apr 3rd

66 Apr 22 Comment Hi Emil. It's interesting that both the original and the final image are great as is. The two are very different and evoke different emotions, but both are strong and beautiful. I often create color pictures with the IR camera and keep them in color. Of course, I work on the colors in Photoshop and often swap channels, but here I like the original as is. The scene is interesting and your work with it is great. Apr 1st
66 Apr 22 Comment Hi Palli. What a great find and a beautiful composition of this light and shadow play. The pattern of the shadows mixed with the lines of the wooden deck makes for an interesting abstract. I like both your version and Gary's revision. Nicely done. Apr 1st
66 Apr 22 Comment Hi Gary. Your picture is your art and your form of expression. In his book, The Soul of the Camera, David DuChemin states that craft can be measured; art cannot. You've done so much to create this form of expression and make a powerful image. One may argue that the bombs are bright and colorful, almost looking like a celebration, but you have a different vision in your mind's eye and used this color intentionally. Expressive photography is, to me, a much stronger form of art than pretty pictures of exotic objects or scenes that conform to camera club aesthetic rules. Interesting work indeed. Apr 1st
66 Apr 22 Comment Hi Charles. Your picture has impact and fits well with your description. I'm also confused about the sky. It doesn't look like the original I also noticed that you flipped the image. I do like the conversion and the tones that express your response to the scene. I'm fine with your sky and Garry's. Great perspective. Apr 1st
66 Apr 22 Comment Hi Melanie. Interesting and beautiful picture that you composed, captured, and processed well. When I judge competitions, I often say that a leading line must either lead to something interesting or lead the viewer through an interesting path. Your picture definitely had beautiful patterns and interesting light and shadow play along the path. The harsh mid-day light was perfect for this one. The shadows fill the foreground and complement the pattern of the trees. Nicely done. Apr 1st
