Yes, I like this one. The gate is important. Nicely done.

Thank you. The scene looked almost colorless. It was very gray. |

Hi Emil. The scene is interesting and your composition works well for me. Flipping the image was a good choice too. The tones in the foreground are handled well. I would probably go for less dramatic sky for this calm scene, somewhere between the original and the final renditions. |

Hi Palli. The unique and beautiful architecture and the light and shadow play make for an interesting picture. The trees in the background are nice too. This picture is an interesting example where the artist's interpretation makes a big difference. When I compare the final image to the original, I see that you put a lot of emphasis on the background. My focus is on the patterns in the foreground, including the reflections on the floor. Of course, you were there, and it's your story. I do like the warm tones. Most of my monochrome pictures are warm. Nicely done. |

Hi Gary. You had a creative idea and made a story-telling composite. While overall the handling is good, there are a few things that can make it look more "realistic." It's mostly about toning. The light and shadows don't always fit. Is the girl on the ground or floating? Should there be a shadow on the ground or should the halo illuminate the ground around her feet, not just an outline. The halo has no depth. It has even opacity, except for the feathering. Maybe some glow effect on the girl would help. Just to be clear, I've never seen a real ghost, so I could be all wrong. |

Hi Jack. The tones and textures in your picture make it strong. The composition is great, with the pole and sky. I agree with Gary that it would've been nice to see more of the structure, but then we would lose much of the dirt foreground and pole. So next time get a very tall ladder ï
Excellent post work and a beautiful final image.

Hi Melanie. I like your picture as presented. The composition with the main trees off center and the naked tree on the right works well. The cropping looks good, and the technical handling is right on. Above all, the picture is beautiful. Palli's version has impact with the darker sky, but it's your picture and your interpretation.
