By the way, I just had another article published in the PSA Travel Division Newsletter. It's about creating personal travel photography projects.

Thank you, Melanie. Yesterday, I went back to try to shoot it from a little to the right of my earlier spot and have the small tree hide that wall. Well, the trees near and behind the house lost all their leaves and the field in the foreground is mowed. Considering that this is a well-recognized historic site, I prefer not to paint the shingles. If you look at my work on FB or IG, you'll see that I'm all for creative freedom when it comes to post processing. |

Thank you, Palli. I'll play with the composition. I may not be able to shoot it again with leaves on the trees until the spring. |

Thank you, Jack. This is a national historic monument, so I want to keep the original look. I agree that pictorially, it's a bit odd. |

Thanks, Gary. I agree with your comment. I guess that knowing the place worked against me. That side is light brown shingles and red window frames. Here is a normal picture from that side of the house. |

Hi Emil. Great find and a beautiful picture. The composition with the trees in the background and the darker area under the eye is perfect. This scene is wonderful for an IR image. The blue eye is great too. |

Hi Pali. Very nice work with the shapes, textures, and tones. The picture is interesting and is handled well. Some may prefer the keystoning to be corrected and have the vertical lines straitened. I don't mind it in this presentation. I think it gives the graphics some impact. |

Hi Gary. The composition and the tones are beautiful. Overall, the picture is interesting and is handled well. On my screen, the sky appears a bit noisy. It could be due to the small file size and large screen. There's a tiny white branch or grass on the bottom border, about a quarter of the way from the left.
In terms of competitions, this picture would work best as a print where the judges have time to explore the different areas in the image. There are a few interesting sections in the frame that tell the story. They all belong here and support the overall presentation, but may not work in a competition, where the judges have a few seconds to look and no time to explore the image.

Hi Charles. This is very sharp, especially being taken from a moving car. I think that the foreground in the original picture looks great without the cropping. You high-contrast conversion enhanced the textures but lost some of the larger patterns in the foreground. Overall, a beautiful IR landscape picture. |

Hi Jack. Beautiful work with the scene. The tones are perfect. I'm using Photoshop and ACR for my processing, so I can't offer any advice. I like what I see here and wouldn't change anything with the tones. I'm not sure why you cropped the bottom. I think the original is fine. |

Hi Melanie. I've been to this place and photographed it a few times, but never with an infrared camera. What a great choice you made. You created something unique and beautiful where other pictures are more of a cliché (Yes, mine too). |
