I like the scene very much and your centered composition. Good overall handling. In terms of contrast, I would go between your version and Gary's. I'm not sure that this beautiful scene should be too dramatic. Soft can work here. |

Trees are my favorite subject to photograph in IR and with the standard cameras. You found a tree that has so much character. The textures are wonderful. I agree that some of the bright highlights in the background can be toned down, but I don't mind that the tree has the same tonal range as the background. It makes the whole picture a study of textures, from the sticks on the ground to the tree and the background. Think of pencil drawing that is all the same tone. |

Very nicely done. The original portrait is beautiful, and your post made it even better. |

Beautiful scene and picture. The sky added impact. I may add some highlights to the landscape to be consistent with the sun rays. |

Great find and beautiful work with the scene. I'm okay with both the original and the flipped version. In the first half of my life I was reading from right to left. Now, from left to right, so the flow works for me either way. |

Very nicely done. I have no suggestions. I like the extra area in the bottom. With the frame it leads you into the scene. |

Thank you all for your feedback. I agree with the suggestions. There was no selective toning. The warm tones are created by channel swapping and adjusting WB to make the leaves white. The glow effect also made the path warmer. Here is a version without the glow. It shows more details too. It's the original processed image, so it still has the bright area in the top right.
I also created a monochrome version. I do that for all my IR pictures. |
