Gloria, your capture of the little girl was perfect as each of your viewers acknowledged. That being the case, I suggest considering cropping the bottom half of the photo leaving a picture of the girl. The table adds nothing to the story or image. |

Daniel, interesting B&W image but needs more contrast as has been pointed out. My understanding is that ideal B&W picture has the very slightest touch of both black and white extremes, at some point, where detail is lost. I agree with recommendation to crop the R side to eliminate a lifeless area. In my view, it always makes a photo stronger when the principals are made more prominent in the photo. I like the lower L opening leading the eye into the image. |

Isaac, I think you have a great story here and have combined it with, in my view, a perfect blend of pastel color. I don't think there is a better place to work street scene photography than Havana. The subjects provide much interest as they walk home with their varied equipment and load of fish. Beyond them are a variety of things to view.
Timing is everything in photography and I was immediately struck by the fish pole obstructing the face of the fisherman. Also I think the image would be stronger if it was flipped but of course that is illegal per the PTD definition. |
