77 Mar 23 Reply Hi Linda. Your vignetting really brings out that dark quality I was going for as well as highlighting the lemons and is a big improvement to this image. I confess that I like the lines on the table as an added element Thanks! Mar 31st
77 Mar 23 Reply The blue around the tree is very easy to deal with and I just cloned it out. The blue next to our young lady is tricky due to her hair. I used color selection to make a selection on the blue and painted in a green selected from nearby. This eliminated about 85% of the blue. I then zoomed way in and painted the rest of the blue out - almost at the pixel level. It is not perfect but, if the viewer were not aware of the original issue I don't think they would pick up the edits. What do you think? Mar 31st
77 Mar 23 Reply Thanks Denise. Your edits do improve the overall feel. The darker background also brings the lemons forward a bit which is a good thing. Mar 19th
77 Mar 23 Reply Thanks Connie. I completely agree that the old masters paintings are typically very dark. I was maybe even a little darker than what you have posted originally and then decided it would look to underexposed - a lack of courage on my part! Mar 15th
77 Mar 23 Comment What a beautiful shot of these sweet sisters. The tree frames the image very nicely. I like your processing and your decision to use a white vignette adds a vintage charm to the image. I'm sure the family was thrilled with your effort here.

My only suggestion would be to clone out the blue halo on the left tree branch as it pulls our eye away from your beautiful subjects.

77 Mar 23 Comment You have captured a wonderful image here Mary. Your subject matter is interesting and framed very well resulting in a very nice composition.

As you note, you were not working with the best light although the drama in the clouds is very nice. The overall image feels a little flat to my eyes. You might be able to use some radial filters in LR or ACR to brighten the building and add a little contrast to get it to pop a little more. I do think this image is worth investing time in. It might work very well in B&W.

77 Mar 23 Comment I too am attracted to images of cars and trucks well past their glory days. This is a great subject and your processing choice has helped to tame the harsh sunlight you were shooting in. I agree with Connie that there is a little too much going on in this image with the busy background. This image might work well in B&W but we do lose all that wonderful color. Here is an example with a closer crop to focus more on the truck. Mar 8th
