Thanks Carol. This was a fixed scene at the railroad museum and was a bit of a one off. I certainly appreciate that it is lacking context and would need something more to give it a more compelling perspective. Certainly something to consider should I go back. |

Thanks Denise. I think it's pretty clear from comments that this is just not a captivating image and I too wondered whether there was enough there. I liked the texture and the mood but I guess in the end it all comes down to content, content and content. |

Thanks Mary. It is challenging for me to know whether I have a nice simple image or a simply boring image - sometimes it can be a fine line with sparse compositions. |

Thanks Connie. I know what you mean about the crop. I had played with various options and settled on what I submitted. I should explore more options. |

I agree with the earlier comments. Nice crop and your decision to make a composite results in a far more interesting image. The low angle of the sun has brought some nice warm colors to your image. |

Mila is adorable Mary! I think your processing results in a much more compelling image than the original capture. It's very difficult to achieve a high key effect when your subject is on such a dark background. Ideally, you would like a very light background which can easily be masked away in processing. That said, this is a very sweet image and I too think Connie's suggested vignette adds a nice final touch. |

This is a lovely image Connie. The warm tones here are very calming. I like your Topaz processing as it definitely adds to the mood. If it were mine, I think I would clone out the bookcase completely to simplify even further than you have - to my eye it distracts from your central theme of basket and chair. I also think this image might really work in B&W but you would lose those lovey warm colors. |

This is a stunning image Carol. Your original is a great capture but the background is a little distracting. Your decision to switch the background to your forest scene just transforms the final image. Your post processing is excellent resulting in something very special. I would not change a thing. |

You have captured a very moody image that works well in both color and B&W. The fog really make this work - so good for you to get out and shoot on what was probably a very cool morning. The preset you used for your B&W conversion has a bit more grain than I like but it does work here. I would crop some of the foreground out as Connie has shown. |

This is a very nice image Witta. B&W is really the way to go in my opinion. I like moody lone sentinel shots like this and feel like you have captured that vibe well. Like Connie, I at first questioned so much negative space but after reflection I feel like it places the tree in perspective you were going for. |
