77 Jul 22 Reply Thanks for your insights Connie. The softness of the tree edges is due to the Lensbaby Sweet 50 lens. There is always a balance with how much blur you want with this lens. With the lens stopped down there is no blur but as you open the lens you begin to get the effect. I need to remember when I see a really great scene like this one to cycle through my f stops as it can be hard in the field to see just how much blur you have introduced. Jul 22nd
77 Jul 22 Reply Thanks Denise. I completely agree with you can Carol on going with a new crop. I have been playing with this image and reducing the amount of sky really helps. I also clearly went a little too dark on the foreground. Jul 20th
77 Jul 22 Reply Thanks for your perspective Witta. I was not sure about the black in the foreground but do really like the tree being darker. I definitely plan on spending more time on this image as I believe it still has potential. Jul 20th
77 Jul 22 Comment Your flowers are beautiful and your processing in Topaz has resulted in a very nice painterly image. I feel like the composition is a little busy and really like Carol's idea of focusing on the bottom three flowers. Those three with a well chosen texture as the background might result in a more balanced composition. Jul 16th
77 Jul 22 Reply Excellent points Carol. Now that I look at the image there is absolutely too much sky. I also wondered about that tree on the right and agree that removing it will add more focus. Jul 15th
77 Jul 22 Comment This is a very creative image Witta and I can definitely see the Michael Sebastian influence here. The two images you have decided to composite work really well together and the grunge treatment certainly fits for these images. A very appealing result overall.

I feel like the text is not at the same level as the image and wonder if an additional image could convey the message the text brings?

Would you recommend Sabastian's course? I'm looking for something new to study and his website looks very interesting. Is it worth the $197 they are currently asking?

77 Jul 22 Comment I think you have captured a stunning image Linda. For your first crack at filming the Milky Way you walked away with a winner. Your processing has given your photo a "fairy tale" quality which is very pleasing.

I might lower the saturation in your greens a little to give the image a more realistic look - unless you are purposely going for an other worldly look. It also appears that this was shot at the wide end of your lens - you might want to try and adjust the perspective so the church stands straight up.

77 Jul 22 Comment Hi Carol! You are a fantastic addition to our group and I look forward to seeing more of your images and learning from your techniques. Your website is stunning!

I quite like your Peace Lilly image. The lighting and focus are excellent and your B&W conversion results in a very pleasing image that has that "classic" aesthetic that really appeals to me. I would not change a thing.
