I took Lisa's course on high key images. She is a really good teacher in my opinion and I learned a lot from the class - particularly how to salvage wildlife shots when shooting in dreary gray conditions. |

I'm normally not a fan of selective colorization but it does look tasteful and sweet with your edits here Georgianne. Thanks for taking the time to show me another direction. |

I really don't have a good feel for when the use of a border is appropriate. In a very simple image like this one I can see how it would definitely help to set the scene off. I think I need to understand the general use of borders better. |

This version does look nice Linda. I usually try and avoid negative space on the right of the image as we tend to view from left to right but I see how it can work nicely here to have the petals lead you into the image. |

This is a lovely winter scene and really would make a lovely greeting card. Given that it is a snow image I thought it might lend itself to a high key treatment. I used ACR in PS to increase the exposure for the entire image. I then added a vignette to focus on the horses. A nice border might help to set the final image off but I'm not sure. |

You really have created a compelling image here. You have managed to make the scene look both otherworldly and natural at the same time. Applying your overlay selectively was a good decision. I think it would be difficult to do much more with the lighting as the moon is behind the buildings so any light on the front of the buildings must be reflected from somewhere. |

You have captured a very lovely farm scene here Linda. This is a very nice composition with the buildings and that dramatic sky and I like how you have removed several distracting elements.
I do feel your final image is a little too dark. I agree with Witta that this would have been a perfect scene for an HDR effort and I like where she has taken your image but think it might be a little bright for the mood you wanted to capture. You might try to brighten the image to your taste and see if you can find a balance that captures your original vision. |

So happy to see you are back to creating Georgianne! I think you have blended your elements well to create this whimsical image. I agree with Witta that this would make for a very fun greeting card. |
