This really is a beautiful portrait and can get the mind moving in so many different directions. I initially didn't see the makeup brush and thought you had caught your subject on the verge of making that decision she has been putting off for some time. The soft focus and lighting adds a lot of mystery to a great image. I could see this on the cover of a bestseller. |

Thank you for your kind words Connie. This image was such fun to work on and it might just go on the wall of this Chemist's office. |

This cascading rose makes for a strong composition and I really like the faded glory aspect. I agree with others that the background is a little too busy here and needs to be tamed to get those roses to pop.
You might consider a B&W conversion as you have a fairly monochrome image that has fairly high contrast. You could go with sepia tones if you wanted to play to the fading beauty angle or a more traditional B&W approach where you bring as much detail out in the roses as possible and soften/darken the background. |

I really like your image and where you have taken it Georgianne. To my eye you have captured the painterly quality you were going for. As you and others have noted, it can be very tricky working with white flowers as they can loose detail so easily. I think you have done a good job of keeping enough detail in the very soft mood you have conjured. Your final result is quite pleasing. |

I really like your addition of this very attractive border which I can easily see on a greeting card. Your harmonizing of all the colors is just lovely. Thanks so much for taking the time to show me this approach. You are inspiring me to rethink borders as you have done so much with this one. |

Thanks Georgianne. It was really easy to catch these caterpillars "napping" as it were. They were very still which made focus stacking a breeze. They also have "defensive horns" which are these bright orange organs that they can shoot out of their heads to scare away would be predators - sure worked on me the first time I experienced it. |

I completely agree with Georgianne and Witta - A very captivating image. You have processed this image very well - removing distracting elements and darkening your background really makes your stars, the butterfly and flower pop. |
