Hi Russell,
How cool to find that little ladybug dancing on the petals of your lovely blue hydrangea! The pop of red, handstand and all, makes the shot:)
I agree with Melanie and Fran on the cropping suggestion. Also, I don't know if you added the dark vignetting, but might you consider making it a little more subtle? ...just my two cents. Beautiful image! |

Hi Diana,
Your rose image is so lovely! I am mesmerized by its details and colorations. I agree with Dick, Fran and Melanie. Had your computer been behaving itself, a textured background would've further enhanced its beauty. Nicely done:) |

Hi Fran,
I love your tulip image. The happy colors and warm lighting are further enhanced by the texture and sun rays you've added. I do agree with Dick and Melanie's cropping suggestions and the removal of the one stem. Good job! I can't wait for spring! |

Thank you, Melanie,
So, am I correct in saying that you created a layer mask to paint the softening mask on? I am a newbie PS user, too! I am not clear on this. I really like the effect and would like to try to do it myself at some point. Thank you for your help. |

Hi Maria,
Another beautiful image! Great title - The wayward petal on the left and the outstretched leaf on the right appear to be reaching around for each other to hug! The colors are gorgeous, and the composition, texture and frame all work well together to give the image its wonderful painterly vibe. Therefore, I agree with Melanie; I would not be concerned about sharpness. Your final edit is superb! I love it flipped as well. Hang this one up! |

Hi Melanie,
I just love the ethereal glow of your image. The colors are lovely, and l'm fascinated with the technique you used to create the natural frame. If fairy gardens were real, they'd look like this;)
I've never heard of your focusing technique before. You've piqued my curiosity and now I will have to try it. May I ask how you softened the framing in the original image? Just beautiful!! |

Hi Dick, I agree with all of your comments, except the walking away part. I cannot do that! I will stay there until I can get a shot. I am still far from you and our group members in skill level. I am hoping the more mistakes I make, the more I'll learn. Also, I shot this flower inside the garden's conservatory, not in direct sunlight.
I love color, but I have been trying to learn more about monochrome. Thanks for your thoughtful and helpful critique. |

I have never heard of Helicon Focus, Dick! I use Adobe software, but I will definitely check it out. Thanks for the info. |

Absolutely stunning, Dick! The composition is perfect and the details in the flower are captivating. The stem leads my eye right up to the center of the flower and keeps it there. I am in awe of your focusing skills. I have never tried photo stacking, but it is on my list. Lovely image! |
