29 Dec 22 Comment Similar to Gunter I really like this image and the fact you have given it a go and tried something different. The cosmos on a baking tray - love it. Dec 16th
29 Dec 22 Comment Hi Gunter, A really simple picture at first sight, but when you really study it there is so much to see. Super composition and tonality and I think you have handled the tricky exposure really well to maintain excellent detail throughout the picture. I would not change anything. Dec 16th
29 Dec 22 Comment Hi Karen, the bridge's curve serves to add a tranquil appeal to the picture and the boat is in just the right position. The perspective of the buildings appears a little odd as they are all leaning to the left. Did you use a wideangle end of a zoom? It would be a simple matter to correct if you feel it needs it. Dec 15th
29 Dec 22 Comment Hi Stephen - A smudge is quite possible the ground was in racing parlance soft to good and splatter from the horses hooves was ceratin to have come in my direction.

As regards the riders I have looked at a small selection. For most they adopt a forward position towards head and neck during the take off and are stood in the stirrups and out of the saddle. Their position seems to move quite far back during landing. This one seems quite extreme - perhaps that is why it finished last.

29 Dec 22 Comment Lovely leading lines to your centre of focus and I particularly like the muted pallet in your version. There is an interesting play of light on the ceiling on the left hand side. I don't really use my phone for photography so prhaps I am missing out, particularly as I believe it is the picture that is important not what it is produced with. Dec 14th
29 Dec 22 Comment Super capture and apart from Gunter's tweaks I don't think I would touch it further. Lightening the eyes has really heightened the expression on the face. A real delight. Dec 14th
29 Dec 22 Reply Thanks Gunter, I am not sure, but I think you are correct - I think that was a particularly wispy bit of foliage caught in the breeze. Dec 14th
