I did move around to find a good background but mostly I was working to avoid backlighting that was making the bird underexposed. The bokeh is just 'cause the bird is far away and it's a very long lens f/5.6. Let's just say I did that on purpose :)

The light is good! The bird is shap! The bird is well-exposed despite the light being behind (?) it. I do think the sky is darkened a bit too much in your black and white conversion, and I understand why you did that, it just makes it seem ever so slightly artificial. Maybe try backing off on that and use a vignette instead? |

This is a fun image. At first it seems like a pretty scene about flowers and bikes. But really your composition is a lot about curves: the path, the row of flowers in the back, the bicycle wheels and the planter. Well-seen scene. |

My two cents: this composition works well as an impressionist piece, and conveys the mood you felt when viewing the scene; however, one could be forgiven for thinking this is just a photo that doesn't have enough in focus. I suggest you go further with your post-processing, or work with techniques such as intentional camera movement. |

That is a great, sharp shot. There is action and interest since the bird is not just flying but carrying an item. And so great that you could find such a scene right near home. Don't change a thing. |

I like the juxtaposition of machine and nature in your context of time passing. Well done. We people of a certain age get nosstalgic at the sight of one of these old typewriters that we have seen, or even used! |
