This is an interesting idea and reminds me of my younger days in school. I think I would be more interested if you would have added the element of water splashing from the fountain. |

Yes, the conversion to monochrome does remove many of the distractions. To me this is two images in one. It is about the building and it is about the activity in the harbor. I would try moving around a bit so that I could get an image that focused more on the activity of the boats or of the architecture of the building which seems to be gurading the harbor. |

The contrast between the light and the dark is what makes this image and the reflection in the water is the frosting on the cake. I would crop either the left or the right had side to simplify the image. |

Ni e use of lines, curves and contrast. I like the way you lead us to the sky and the main point of the image. I tghink you could simplify the outer edges a little. Not sure how I would do that. |

My first thought was "Ew" someone has photographed another person's work. Thank goodness my brain woke again to read your description. A very nice capture and a compelling image. I would like to see some darkening on the right hand side of the image as it find it mildly distracting. |

The use of a lightbox is well done. I am pretty sure I have one, but somehow in my move to Pennsylvania I have misplaced it. It really worked well for photographing small objects/ We don't have many pinecones here and I think our many acorns might be too small for photography. I like what you have done done this photograph. I think I would have added a white border instead of a dark one. |
