I have lived many years in Iowa *now in PA) but have never been to Maquoketa Caves. I also use Photomatix in high contrast situations. Nice job of dealing with the extreme contrast. |

Yes, your post processing has taken an ordinary image and the new one is much improved. The vertical cropping and adding in part of the horse's hoof was quite well done. I only wish you could have shown what the rider is pointing to. |

It is nice that they are renovating this old building and keeping its architecture. I don't know if it was possible but the vertical (lines) are disturbing to me. I would like to see just the lovely spiral staircase. |

Yes it looks like you caught one of those raw moments when the cat appears to be posing for you. Nice blurring of the background. I think it would be interesting if you added a catch light to his eyes. |

I like your idea of using a triptych to gives us a summary of the event. I am not sure the first of the tree really gives us more information. Perhaps if you had a shot of the planes on the ground or some other kind of closeup. |
