Oh, how I miss photographing Cypress trees in the swamps of South Carolina during sunrise and sunset. You've done a good job turning challenges into opportunities. The colors and the view from the pier are very nice. For me, I'm uncertain about the 2 small bushes as they seem to add extra weight to the right side of the frame. I did look at the other photos you posted, and the solitary tree and its B/W conversion are wonderful. Very well done! Happy Holidays! |

Happy Holidays! What a beautiful location to stop and absorb the view! I believe standing and experiencing the scene firsthand is different than seeing it in a photo. Great job with PP however when I look at the photo, my eye is mainly drawn to the right side of the frame - from the village to the stone mountain. For me, to enhance the composition, maybe consider a vertical format or as Larry suggested crop in to the bright bush. It could help to create a more balanced photo. |

Mingo Falls is a great waterfall that I try to visit at least once a year, though I missed it this year. The vibrant autumn leaves frame the falls nicely which enhance the overall composition. I especially like the logs leading to the main cascade. I agree with Larry about the blue tinted water. Nonetheless, it's a great image. Happy Holidays!

This year's fall foliage in North Carolina was notably shorter. The combination of warm temps and lack of rainfall resulted in uneven color and some leaves falling prematurely. Even for those residing in the area, predicting good color was challenging. From a compositional perspective, the angle of the photo effectively highlights the bridge's length and the windmill adds a nice balance to the trees on the left side. The sunlight enhances the scene's warmth, making the grass and colorful leaves more vibrant. Nice job and if it snows, I may drive there myself.
Merry Christmas! |

Hi Isaac. Nice capture. This photo of the Icelandic horses beautifully captures their sense of comfort and social bonding. The earthy color palette enhances the overall feeling of peace and warmth among the horses. For me, my attention is less drawn to the road that moves through the image and more to the large white sky in the upper right corner. My suggestion would be to remove the sky. |

Adrian, this is a stunning capture. Icebergs are a stunning showcase of nature's architectural wonders. The image is crisp and detailed, with calming cool tones.
For me, I wonder if adding a bit more space between the iceberg's edge and the right side of the frame, would enhance visual harmony. Nonetheless, it's a beautiful image. |

Maria, you've captured the heron in a good position. Upon closer look, there's a bit of motion blur, but the positioning of the wings and the expression on its face make the image stand out. While you may not have control over the environment, post processing can enhance the heron's impact even more. |

Maria, swans are always beautiful subjects for photography, but capturing them in an ideal position elevates the image ever further. The soft lighting enhances their elegance, and the dark background makes them stand out nicely. The subtle reflections in the water add an extra intrigue to the composition. Very nice. |

Brr, just the idea of being caught in such frigid temperatures sends a chill down my spine! The presentation of the three bighorn sheep is very nice, Bruce. The image is sharp, the neutral colors and lighting are good, and the positioning of the sheep adds to its overall appeal. |

Thanks for your comments, Isaac. My apologies for the mix-up. I was actually trying to decide whether to post a photo of a robin or cardinal. Right photo, wrong title. |
