Bill, I think you clearly show a sense of place in a simple and effective way. PP brought out some drama and colors. The texture in the gorge is nicely seen and the composition leads my eye into the scene. I haven't seen Matt K PP video as Larry mentioned but I try to use radial gradients in different spots to make the image more cinematic. Nice capture. |

Being an avid hiker, I'm always looking for that beam of light that filters through the trees on a trail. Nicely done! The addition of the fog gives atmosphere and the flowers and green grass make the image feel tranquil. I'm not distracted by the tree on the far right that's mentioned above, the choice is yours whether to remove it or not. The light and fog keep my eye in the image. Great image. |

The wintery tones of this image are wonderful. I like how the small block of ice in the foreground enhances the background and draws my attention to the image. It's my favorite part. The shutter speed was a good choice to achieve the the silky smooth look as the water hits the shoreline but it also keeps some texture in the sea. You did a nice job in PP. |

Larry, I can appreciate the time and effort that goes into a moon shot. I love being able to capture the moon and landscape in one shot and I am all about a big moon! You did a great job coordinating all the parts (timing, elevation, location, DOF, etc)! The sun elevation, moon rise time, and the location makes all the difference when trying to capture the natural light and contrast. The great sky color, the moon texture, and the wispy clouds works beautifully with the church steeple. You nailed this shot!

As a photographer there's nothing more frustrating then to get to a location and be disappointed when your vision of the perfect photo is crushed. The good thing is there is always another story to tell. Michael, you took a very nice photo of a beautiful location. The complimentary colors from the warm rocks against the cool blue ocean along with the texture and composition makes this image. |

Hi Mary. NPF rule considers your aperture, pixel pitch, and focal length and gives you a more accurate exposure time to eliminate any trails. It's a pretty complex calculation but I use the PhotoPills app and all you need to do is input your settings and the app does the calculation.
I used to use the 500 rule (classic rule) which is 500 divided by focal length but I kept getting slight trails because the exposure time was longer. With the NPF rule, I do have to crank up my ISO to get a good histogram but with my Canon R5 and noise reduction software it's not a problem. My exposure time using the 500 rule is about 30 sec vs NPF rule about 13 sec.

Hi Mary, very nice MW. I'm always looking for clear skies and low light pollution to capture the MW. I don't know your settings but I can assume you kept your long exposure short enough and used a wide angle lens as the stars look pinpoint to me with no trails. I like to use the NPF rule to get pinpoint stars. The MW is nicely edited and not over processed. Well done. |

Isaac, this is great buffalo photo. The mud covered animal nicely demonstrates one of their behaviors. The bird perched on the lip is a bonus. The image is sharp, the lighting nicely shows the detail. I agree with Bruce, try this in B/W. |

Great capture Adrian. When I lived along the Atlantic Ocean in South Carolina I used to see the sea turtles while kayaking. It was always fun but a bit startling when they would pop their head out of the water near the kayak. I like the composition with turtle and the single yellow fish. The colors are natural and the texture is nicely shown. A touch of contrast or dehaze as mentioned above would add more punch to the image. |

Leah, ruins are always fun and creative to photograph. Great capture! I do wish the branches could have been eliminated but sometimes they can't. I think Isaac's idea for more contrast works well and adds punch to the image. Nice job! |

Maria, very cool image and cheers to you for paying attention to small details.
There is a beautiful simplicity to the image. For me the smooth long wavy lines of the water adds an artistic effect. The water almost looks like ICM. The connectivity of the insects, the reflection, and their placement in the frame works for me. Great image! |

Bruce, the hawk pops out nicely against the warm background. The coloring, head turn, and position of the wings makes this a beautiful image of this raptor. |

Hi Isaac. Thanks for your comments. I'm not a bird expert but it is an eastern bluebird as Bruce mentioned. I believe it's a immature female. Here's another image of the bluebird flying out of my frame. You can definitely see the blue in the wings and tail. |
