The snow capped mountains, a touch of fog, and the speckled light hitting the tree tops makes this a captivating scene but the post processing really makes this image pop. Well-done. As the others have mentioned, the fog is a bit warm, however it adds to the nice mood and atmospheric feel to the image so I think it works fine. For me, the leafless trees in the front of the image block my view a bit but otherwise this is a beautiful image. |

Hi Diane. Nice perspective. It was worth the trek down the embankment. I like how the light is hitting the trees and the silky flow of the water. The shutter speed provides a nice flow to the water and the lines of the water guide my eye through the image. The foliage appears sharp. I agree with the Michael about the color cast and removal of the miscellaneous branches in the foreground. I'm on the fence about whether or not the luminance of the bright yellow trees at the top should be toned down a bit to keep my eye on the falls. Regardless, it's a very nice waterfall shot. |

Hi Bill. The limited color palette works so well in this image. For me, the soft sky against the textured buildings adds interest. The touch of blue water and the mountains gives me a sense of place. Nice documentation of the landscape. Nice image. |

Hi Michael. The vastness and color saturation of canola fields is impressive and draws me in like a magnet. I like the touch of texture in the lower part of the frame, the bright blue sky and fluffy clouds make the yellow color pop even more than normal. For me the bright yellow color works. Very nice! |

Larry, I love this story and your generosity. Connecting with the local folk is the best part of a photo outing. The use of the lume cubes (such a great tool) added that perfect kiss of light to the foreground and store. The stars are pinpoint, the vertical MW core hovers nicely over the store, and the clear visible Dark Horse nebula is bonus! I'm impressed with the MW brightness using an 8 sec exposure/ISO2000. Is this because it was still early in the night or the focal length? I use the NPF rule and my exposure is usually 13-15 sec with an ISO range between 3200-6400.
The simple post processing gives the scene a natural, rustic feel which helps me to further imagine time gone by. Fantastic image! |

Thanks Adrian. Being close but not too close (ranger present) was magical. I have several individual photos looking at the camera but none with the whole family.

Hi Isaac. What I like about this image is the facial expression of the tiger staring at the camera. The movement of the second tiger and the water splashing makes me think one tiger is saying "play time" while the other tiger's expression is saying "not in the mood". Nice capture. |

Hi Mary. This location has such beautiful scenery and looks like a great place to kayak. The PP was done well to bring out the beauty of the scene. When I first looked at this image, I was immediately drawn to the sky and the evergreen tree shapes. I don't think the shoreline is directly in the middle, but with the crop, I see the image as being divided into 2 parts. For me, the trees and sky create a strong connection while the water and small patch of grass don't show a strong enough relation to the top of the image. I wish the ripply reflections were a bit more distinct.
Overall, the image is lovely and gives me a sense of place to this beautiful location. |

Hi Maria, I love the delicacy of this image. What drew me to this image was the bee's environment, the color palette, and the way the lines of the flowers are sweeping to the left. I think a moment in the life of a bee was captured and the inclusion of the flowers reveal a larger story. The bee is sharp and nicely exposed. Well done. |

The details of the hippo keep me looking at this image. The position of the head, the water splashing from the mouth, the interesting skin texture and the size of this hippo's head make me want to be there but not too close. The image is sharp and nicely composed. Very nice. |

Hi Adrian. I think you captured everything necessary for a wonderful photo. It's sharp, exposed well, and a good composition so the subject doesn't compete with the background. The expression and position of the macaque tells the story nicely.
Beautiful image. |
